Biography

Adelaide, South Australia’s Kristian Molnar a.k.a. DJ Odyssey has been a leading figure in Adelaide’s bustling underground dance music scene for over 13 years now and his contribution to the industry is widely recognized & respected. From the early days of his record shop Ravin Mad Records (1997 – 2000), where he imported, promoted & pushed underground rave music from around the globe & began promoting underground parties to the present day, promoting small underground events, Club nights and festivals, to his involvement as a major contributor to Guidance Magazine & Part owner contributor to GO magazine, Both Underground Adelaide street magazines. Odyssey’s involvement in the SA Dance industry has helped shape the way it is today.

Odyssey currently holds South Australian Dance Music Awards (SADMA) for Dance party of the year (Enchanted Forest 2, 3 & 4, 1999, 2000, 2002), Promoter of the year (in conjunction with Paradigm (now Turbofunk)& Ultraworld, 2000 & again in 2002), Best event under 800 (System 6, 2000) at the 2003 SA Dance music awards, scooped Dance Party of the year (Enchanted Forest 5), Promoter of the year (Enchanted Forest crew) and Overall DJ of the year.

Early 2004, Kristian was nominated for the following categories at the 2004 South Australian dance music awards: Radio show of the year (Da Clinic), Overall DJ of the year, Hard house DJ of the year, Promoter of the year (Enchanted Crew), Party of the year over 1000 (Enchanted forest 6) & special event under 1000 (System 6). With Odyssey scooping Promoter of the year (Enchanted Crew), Party of the year over 1000 (Enchanted forest 6) and Hard house DJ of the year.

Whilst this years dance awards '07 Odyssey Scooped Hard dance DJ of the year and special event under 1000 (System 6 @ Earth)!

The scene in Australia is definitely booming, Hard dance has taken over all the major clubs, Major labels such as ministry of sound, Sony, EMI & Central station are all releasing hard dance CD’s regularly, the crowds are always up for it and all the dance parties are attracting huge crowds with the right attitudes Odyssey is a resident every Friday & Saturday night’s at the best club in Adelaide, EARTH, He plays guest spots at most of the touring club nights (Ministry of sound, Perfecto, hard nrg tour etc) as well as regular gig’s at the recovery Breakfast club and at all Ultraworld, System 6, Stardust & Frantic Adelaide events and even co-hosted a primetime radio show, Da Clinic with Dr Damage every Friday night on Fresh FM for 3 years.

Odyssey is flown interstate on a regular basis to perform his fast and Furious, upfront, action packed sets and have seen him play interstate at events such as the national Big day out festival that attracts up to 30,000 ppl in Adelaide alone.

Forming a strong & loyal following in his home town, playing every major event and club night over the last few years, Kristian Molnar formally RMR,Enchanted Crew, & Terminal velocity productions and recently System 6 productions & Frantic Adelaide, Odyssey's production companies have been responsible and co-promoted some of the biggest parties in SA’s dance history, Parties such as Enchanted forest, Winter Enchanted, Strawberry field's, Once upon a time, and many more...
